The Pack Guardian in folklore and history

Not every werewolf in history was a villain. In 1692 an old man named Thiess told a court in Livonia that he and his fellow werewolves were the hounds of God, who went down to hell on certain nights of the year to fight the witches and bring back the harvest they had stolen. The Pack Guardian would have run beside him.
