Werewolves in packs

The Greek historian Herodotus wrote in the 5th century BC of the Neuri, a people north of the Black Sea of whom it was said that every one of them turned into a wolf for a few days each year. He did not believe it, but he wrote it down. Later legends kept werewolves together, from the wolf-skinned warriors of the Norse sagas to the werewolves of Livonia, who, as the Swedish writer Olaus Magnus reported in 1555, gathered in great bands on Christmas night.

How the score works

Each of the 18 types has four traits: how much company it loves, how much it plans, how strongly it feels and how much it loves the old ways. Shared feelings count most, then shared traditions. One planner and one improviser make a good team, and every pair of creatures gets a small bonus or penalty of its own. The result is a match from 41 to 98 percent, and the same two types always get the same score. Test any two creatures.
